ABSTRACT: This study examines the role of early childhood education in developing farm-to-table initiatives among young children. Early exposure to farm-to-table concepts can lead to a better understanding of food sources and healthy eating habits. Objectives included evaluating children's understanding of farm-to-table initiatives, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term impacts of early farm-to-table education. A survey design was utilized for its effectiveness in gathering broad data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 200 children from preschools in Delta State, Nigeria. Findings indicated that children exposed to farm-to-table education demonstrated a greater appreciation and understanding of the journey of food from farm to table. Effective practices included interactive lessons on food sourcing, hands-on gardening projects, and visits to local farms. The study recommended integrating farm-to-table education into early childhood curricula to foster healthy eating habits and an appreciation for locally sourced food from an early age.
